The Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics Essay Contest challenges college students to analyze the urgent ethical issues confronting them in today’s complex world. Students are encouraged to write thought-provoking personal essays that raise questions, single out issues and are rational arguments for ethical action.

In line with this mission, the Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics affords a promising student the opportunity to win a monetary award by composing a 3,000 to 4,000 word essay relating to a modern ethical issue. Each year the Foundation will suggest a topic for the essay, but applicants are encouraged to choose any topic about which they feel strongly.
